- Role-based, attribute-based, & just-in-time access to infrastructure
- Connect any person or service to any infrastructure, anywhere
- Logging like you've never seen
As the autumn leaves fall and Halloween costumes are tucked away, it's time to share product updates before we gather around the Thanksgiving table. This month, StrongDM dives into the passwordless future using cloud-native authentication to meet modern infrastructure demands. Also coming soon, keep an eye out for Device Trust: A new feature that adds critical context to your access connections and narrows the aperture for risk. Read the details below.
Cloud-Native Authentication
Cloud Service Providers, like Azure and AWS, offer their own identity and access management systems to make it easier to manage and enforce access policies for cloud resources. StrongDM now supports native cloud authentication methods for secure access, no credentials required.
- AWS IAM roles for RDS Postgres, Aurora Postgres and EKS.
- Managed Identity for Azure PostgreSQL.
Coming Soon!
Device Trust Combining StrongDM with an endpoint manager (SentinelOne and Crowdstrike) adds additional context to every access grant by assessing the risk profile of the device the person is using. Trust the user, trust the device, and then grant access. Continuous risk assessment ensures access is always secure.
Improvements
Access Request Duration
Specify the duration of access down to the minute. This is supported via the Slack app’s slash command (/) or via the CLI’s sdm access to command.
Prevention of Duplicate Access Requests
Reduce noise of duplicative requests. When creating an access request, an Already Exists error will be returned if an existing access request already exists in the pending state for the same resource and user via the same workflow.
We can hardly contain our enthusiasm! If you're heading to re:Invent, secure a meeting to dive into our newest product capabilities. We hope to see you there!
